Event Details

Get inspired by the past! In this new program, we will read a picture book biography about a real-life hero, trailblazer, or changemaker-then bring history to life with a fun craft or hands-on activity. From artists and activists to scientists and explorers, each session highlights someone who made a difference in the world.

January Book is Playing at the Border - A Story of Yo-Yo Ma by Joanna Ho

This month we explore the inspiring story of world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma! We'll read Playing at the Border by Joanna Ho, which tells the true story of how Yo-Yo Ma brought people together through a special concert at the U.S.-Mexico border.

After the story, kids will work together to create a collaborative mural showing how music and art can connect us all. Each child will add their own unique touch to our masterpiece!

Perfect for elementary-age children. All supplies provided.
