Get inspired by the past! In this new program, we will read a picture book biography about a real-life hero, trailblazer, or changemaker-then bring history to life with a fun craft or hands-on activity. From artists and activists to scientists and explorers, each session highlights someone who made a difference in the world.
History Makers: A Computer Called Katherine
This October, we're celebrating Katherine Johnson, the brilliant mathematician who helped send astronauts to the moon! Join us as we read "A Computer Called Katherine" by Suzanne Slade and discover how Katherine's amazing math skills helped NASA make history.
After hearing Katherine's inspiring story, we'll create our own rocket ship craft to celebrate her contributions to space exploration.
