In this new program, we will read a picture book biography about a real-life hero, trailblazer, or changemaker, then bring history to life with a fun craft or hands-on activity. From artists and activists to scientists and explorers, each session highlights someone who made a difference in the world.
September History Makers: Cubs in the Tub
This September, we're reading "Cubs in the Tub" by Candace Fleming - the amazing true story of Helen Martini, the Bronx Zoo's first female zookeeper!
Discover how Helen broke barriers in the 1960s, from bottle-feeding tiger cubs in her own bathtub to proving that women could handle any zookeeping job. After hearing her inspiring story, we'll create our own tiger craft to take home.
